David Bowie and without having to disparage Mr Young in any way at all it isn't even close. Bowie is one of the greatest, if not the greatest songwriter of the modern era.

Bowie's impact has been huge. I was fortunate enough to be able to see the Bowie exhibition at the V&A and it was wonderful. He is a cultural hoarder, and this is reflected in all of his work.

Many know Bowie for his pretty songs like Changes, but his experimentation and embrace of the avant-garde are equally important. As for Heroes, the 3 minute version does not do the song justice. Bowie has always surrounded himself with talented people, in this instance Robert Fripp (possibly the GOAT), whose guitar just builds and builds the atmosphere of the song.

For one artist to take on pop, rock, glam, electronic, punk, folk, soul... in such an accomplished manner is a monumental achievement. A fascinating man who will probably always be my favourite artist.

            Both of them are clowns.

This song is now stuck in your head for the next 2 hours.

            You're welcome.

I see great things in both of them.

Two artists I hope never do an album together.

Neil Young gas certainly written some great songs, but listening to him sing and play guitar makes me want to puncture my eardrums and scratch my eyes out with my belt buckle.

                  Bowie KO 1.
