I excluded him because his Work was made with and for Fat yanks. He was still great though, but not really, IMO, a representative for British humour. Agree?
Too many people leave out the Simpsons when they talk about modern American comedy. In its golden years I think it has a strong argument for being the greatest television comedy ever. Massively influential on both sides of the Atlantic as well.
If you're properly into stand-up, it's well worth taking the time to watch Stewart Lee. He's probably not hugely accessible for American audiences but then he's not hugely accessible for audiences over here either.
He's produced easily three of the smartest and in my opinion three of the best stand up shows of the past ten years - Stand Up Comedian, 90's Comedian, and The 41st Best Stand Up Ever.
