Why not Conan? CBS owns TBS, seemed like the logical choice imo.

          wow.

unexpected choice but a great choice.

          this is a game changer.

Colbert is hilarious and a natural comedian. Funnier than Fallon and kimmel combined.

i would have preferred jon stewart but stephen colbert is a great choice.

            Colbert is good...

(I'm a "conservative" from Europe and I like him a lot...)

Fallon may not be the funniest, but he's great with the guests.

Colbert seems like he'll try to bring that Colbert Report shtick to his late night gig.

              I could be wrong though.

He can't carry the persona over, copyright issues. He's plenty funny outside of the persona anyway.

This still sucks. Colbert is amazing but I'm going to miss his show so much, and there's no guarantee his comedic genius will thrive at that level, where so many people will watch his every move and restrict his jokes.

im pretty sure they know that replacing letterman in prime time everyday competing against abc and nbc late night shows is gonna take more than just his bill oreilly impersonation.

one thing for sure, his debut and first couple weeks is gonna be more anticipated than fallon. i just do not find fallon's brand of humor funny.

I've only seen the serious Colbert outside of his persona. Not the casual, funny version of himself.

That's crazy that his persona is copyrighted.
