I know this sounds sick but she followed Dexter to the church to confess to him that she loves him.

The real problem is in why Dexter chose to off Travis in the church,
where at least one person (Deb) EXPECTED him to be. Even if you
eliminate his sister as a concern, the church was just a ridiculously
unsecured location to be pulling that kind of shit.
