Can a potential team of Howard, Williams, and Johnson beat the Heat?

If you want to play that game...that Celtic team wasn't even close to healthy. Avery Bradley and Jeff Green were out, Pierce and Allen were hobbled on top of the Celtic's age. The Bosh thing doesn't jive when the C's had multiple players out.

Besides, I'm not sure this potential Nets team would be as good as those Celtics. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are getting overrated in this thread IMO, they would get smoked by Lebron and Wade.

Yes, but they wouldn't be the favorites. The big reason why is because they'd have the edge over Miami in the 2 most important positions on the court. They're also younger, as athletic and Deron's not afraid to take a big shot. Obviously it won't be this season seeing as they don't have the depth, but if they do get D12, I'll say by next season they'd have a great chance.

We gotta remember that Wade's getting up there in age and often injured. They're still undersized in the paint and that'll be a couple issues they'd have to work around.

Does anyone know what the four team trade for D12 looks like? I heard it involved LAC, ORL, BK & CLE

Yes Jeff Green, Green is a good young player who would've been in the Celtics rotation. If you're going to take injuries into account you need to consider all of them. Bradley was starting and he would've alleviated some of the pressure on Allen. How can you talk about the Heat's injuries but not the Celtic's? Deron Williams is overrated, lmao! This guy is an outstanding talent whose never had star players around him. Wade and James won't match up with Williams and Johnson, it will be Johnson and Wallace. The Heat have no answer for Howard. Deron is a top 5 PG and top 15 NBA player.

The Heat took a year or so to get into a groove of getting used to each others habits along with getting a style of play for the team to kinda follow, hence them getting Ray Ray. They know they don't have a huge presence in the middle, but they know if they can have perimeter shooting, 2 of the best players in the league and SG and SF/PF and possibly the best and quickest team in transition, teams are still going to have a tough time against Miami. The Nets (if they land Dwight) will obviously be a huge upgrade, but they also gotta get used to each other and the overall style of play the Nets are gonna implement.

I think the Lakers may be a bigger problem overall than the Nets (right now).

I see what you're saying but having a true PG makes a big difference imo. The Celtics big three won a championship together in their first season in large part to having a true PG in Rondo. The Heat's team is somewhat unorthodox. Jame's and Wade's games actually clash. Williams is a true PG who can control the tempo and distribute the ball. The Nets will play inside out.

Deron Williams is definitely overrated if people don't think Lebron would lock him down pretty easily. Lebron guards whoever he needs to guard. Throwing Shane Battier at Joe Johnson would slow him down enough, Joe Johnson is no superstar player at all.

As a huge Magic fan, just because no one on the Heat can slow Howard down doesn't mean Howard would be unstoppable. He'd probably get in foul trouble for half the games and be a non factor for entire halves.

Johnson isn't a superstar but neither is Bosh. What makes you think LeBron would start of the game guarding Williams? I only see James guarding Deron if need be, as in clutch fourth quarter situations. Why do you think guys like Rondo and Westbrook lit up the Heat? Williams is a hell of a lot better than Rondo offensively. Rondo had a 44 point game against the Heat in the playoffs. You are selling Williams short, the guy is a stud.
