Judged by this thread, UK seems to have superior internet infrastructure then the US.

I mean 18-25mbps is what I get on my phone via wireless and some of the US based guys here are posting such speeds, which I assume are tested at the main home pc/laptop.

i can get 300 mbps but it will cost me a hind leg. no thanks.

i get 40/40 on my phone with verizon 4g.

How they connect is also a factor. If they connect through wireless they won't get the full speed capable even at 100% signal and wireless g which is still the most common has a limit of 54mbps (though you will never get that speed more like 30-35mbps).

True. But if you look at the 'faster then x% of y" at the base of each speed test, speeds of 50mb get "faster then 80% of US" - whilst even 100+ mb has 10% of the UK faster then me.

FTR, my home city is in the global top 5 for internet infrastructure.

flash based internet speed testing i recall is somewhat inaccurate. like this speedtest.net.

you guys can use another testing method, i prefer this

Dude, your 'test' gave an answer of 4mb. Speed test says 103mb. I have a 100 mb line and a direct cable connection, so which do you think is off?
