Currently you left the bottom line of "he still got 12 straight albums hitting no.1" but that again, comes down to his cross over success. More people buying his shiz doesn't equal a great.

    I respect your opinion though.
I respect your also. But how come the ones you guys say are better, aren't hitting those charts as hard as Jay? It's all free game, anyone can get up there. I doubt Jay is buying his own albums and putting them in his basement.

You think some of those better rappers tried it and failed then said they're trying to keep it real? Be honest.

As far as longevity, not too many people are messing with $hort.

Them rappers tried it, without doubt. But, simply weren't successful enough to make themselves a cross over success like Jay. Even if you listen to a lot of the lyrics of past greats you can see the differences. Jay's more commercial, got his foot in every door. Clothing line, alcohol... everything comes from that cross over success.

But, yes. I agree that the previous rappers never made it but most likely tried. This comes down to cross over success, they just didn't hit it with the wider public.

You're just giving more reason on why he should be up there. To cross over and be good at it.

Emmitt Smith has the record for all time rushing leader....he must be the greatest Running back ever.

                    And it's 11 albums not 12.
