exactly, Messi is Barca's only real goal threat, especially with Villa injured.

That said,
Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets dictate the game; they can create space and control the game. Their style, they stretch the other team completely and make things MUCH easier for Messi. They don’t always give the final ball but with their style they have already caused havoc on the other team since each touch they have is threatening. I’ll give you an example, Modric. If you look at his stats, they look extremely poor. However people who watch football and have a deep understanding of it acknowledge his immense presence and talent he is for Tottenham and without him they would be lacking in the middle of the park. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets create the play which leads to other players giving Messi the final ball. They start the play and their hard work are the results of Messi .
Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets without Messi are winning World Cup and Euros. Messi with a STACKED Argentina cannot win the Copa nor make the World Cup semi final.

Also remember Spain v Portugal 2010. Spain dominated Portugal thanks to the Barcelona trio; however, Ronaldo was always an outlet and at times threatened to score when his team was overwhelmed by the Bracelona players practically. If it was Messi, he wouldn’t have been a threat at all, since he cannot do wonders when his team is outplayed and he never can be an outlet like Ronaldo.

Friendly but since it's the only time they played recently and only time Messi's team has been on the back end of possession.

Ronaldo is the ultimate fair weather player. Name a time against a top side when he's bailed his team out. Im talking an elite team not ***ing Porto or something.

Ronaldo is rarely ever a threat in big matches.
Madrid don't majority of possession and are outplayed yet Ronaldo comes out with a wonder goal. Doesn't need Madrid to dominant
