Moving to Riverside, California....Needs some Info?

Can someone tell me about the surrounding Riverside, California area? (Riverside, San Bernadina, Rialto, Hemet, Fontana)

What the best/decent area for a family to live...(married w/ children)?

    How is the weather?

Best place to play ball (Hoops)?

    Best Boxing Gym to Join?

Best Park to take the kids?

    What areas should I avoid?

    How is the Crime-rate?

    Are the people Friendly?

    Thanks.

well, that depends. you'd have to find where housing is available. there are some gated communities around the area. I personally thought the area south of tyler mall is nice. Everything seems to be on a slope/hill or something, near the high school. Reminded me of maybe east highland.

          How is the weather?
Mostly warm. It's so-cal. Nothing changes. It's warm/hot, rain in the spring. windy in the fall. Winter has some rain but not much, mostly cold and overcast skies.

          Andulka Park

          Best Boxing Gym to Join?
Wherever Chris Arreola trains. Gracie Barra riverside is out there. Capital Punishment gym. Adrenaline FC in San bernardino. Fontana Boxing Club; that place is like kronk IE.

Best Park to take the kids?
There are a ton of parks in riverside. Andulka Park is the best one though. You'll know your there because it has a large tennis facility there. Basketball courts right next to it. With a children jungle gym, slides, play area literally to the right of the basketball area. Baseball fields to the south of that.

          Really nice park.

          What areas should I avoid?
Not sure. I haven't been all over riverside. Whenever I go out there, I always see really nice places.

          How is the Crime-rate?
I don't know. There are crimes here and there but nothing like Detroit or something. Hard to tell too because everything looks so nice and then you hear someone got in a dispute and shot in a gated community.

          Are the people Friendly?
Generally. If you look for unfriendly people, you'll most likely find them. If your polite, they'll be polite.

          Thanks.
No problem. Riverside is a nice place to live but for some reason Men's Health rated it one of the worst places for a man to live. Maybe because it's boring there? Not much action really.

Thanks for all the info....I was looking to possibly live in San Bernadino but someone said that area is "hit n' miss" sometimes. So I am thinking of looking elsewhere. But man....thanks again for the in-depth info.

I've lived in San Bernardino and attended and graduated from UCR in Riverside. If you're in San Bernardino waterman ave is not the best place to be.The north side near the college (cal state) is a pretty good area, or at least it was then. Riverside is not as bad as San Bernardino.

Some good cities- towns in the area would be Redlands, Loma Linda isn't bad either.
