    What's that metaphor

What's that metaphor where by it means, if one guy is being loud, acting silly, and you make keep quiet, other people will know who the idiot it is?

I think you mean idiom, but the closest I can think of is "never argue with fools because from a distance, you cannot tell who is who" or some **** like that. Also "better to have people believe you are ****** than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." I think Mark Twain said that. I don't know about the first one.

I think it's the idiom."An empty vessel makes the loudest noise".
Or "An empty can rattles the most".......

This is probably not what you're looking for but it's similar and one of my favorites:

"Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear to be bright before you hear them speak."
