You can check for recent earthquakes any where in the world. Click on the location to see a close up or to find the magnitude and how close it is to major cities. When Japan was hit I was checking this constantly.



If you check it out from time to time you will know about major quakes before the News can report it. Notice the frequency of earthquakes around the Pacific Rim.
