The celtics playing like ****: Trading Perkins was a huge mistake.

I can not believe how badly the celtics are struggling without Perkins since the trade. After winning 5 in a row the celtics have been playing like **** nowadays and have dropped many narrow losses to **** teams like the bobcats and outside of an anorexic Garnett have no toughness in the paint. Also I want to know wth is with Rondo going from 15 assists a game to like 5 and playing lazy basketball with no motivation.

I read an article about the type of friendship Rondo and Perkins have.

And that an affect a lot. He does seem unmotivated. They were a complete , deep team. Now they are just a good team. Filled with a bench that does not compare to what they had.

I dont think they can compete anymore.

They definitely did. Now without having Shaq around as well, they can't intimidate any teams. They can no longer defeat their opponents mentally with Kristic as their starting Center.

It's too early to write them off or have a heart attack over guys. The playoffs haven't even started yet, let's wait a little bit before we rush to judgments.

I called it right when the trade happened but certain people on this forum didn't want to believe me, some of their fans didn't appreciate what they had in Perkins and now that he's gone they understand.

Krstic is soft, guys will go at him because they know he's soft, they have no fear. I've seen it happen so many times with Matt Bonner (I'm a Spurs fan), guys score at will on him because they know how bad of a defender he is.

Rasheed Wallace once said "Just throw the ball to whoever Bonner's guarding" no joke.

Perkins brought toughness to that team, he was good at rebounding and he was a good position defender. Both O'Neals won't make that much of a difference when they return either.

That team had perfect team chemistry and their front office broke it up. They ****ed up big time.

Horrible move by the C's.. I don't understand why they traded a part of the starting 5 that Doc said has never lost a playoff series for. Made no sense. Especially when they brought in Jeff Green, who virtually plays Paul Pierce's position.

I really believe they can be bounced out in the 1st or 2nd rounds of the playoffs, depending on who they play. Perkins didn't give you what a center like Howard or Bynum will give you, but he did the small things like defend the paint, distract shots and rebound the ball. He was a difference maker, and seeing how Shaq's out, it isn't looking any better for the Cs right now

We saw something similar in dallas from Josh Howard when Devin Harris was traded to New Jersey. Its like he didn't give a damn anymore and he started having off the field issues.

We finished the end of last years season badly, but balled in the playoffs.

                  We'll see.

Hopefully Shaq can start soon, he'll add some toughness, and Rondo will be fine come playoff time. As long as no one else gets injured we should be fine. They have been playing lazy ball lately, they seem unmotivated and content with the idea that even if they lose every game until the end of the season they'll make the playoffs. Like I said, we'll see, but I think during the playoffs they'll start to come together better. Krstic is soft, though. And dealing with the Lakers/Magic is gonna be a b*tch if Shaq can't give us at least 25 minutes.

I don't think we should panic just yet.

I know when I heard that a month ago I was like ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME? Look at your freakin big men. Jermain O'Neal? Are you kiddin me? Whens the last year he was good? 03, 04, maybe 05? Whens the last time he even finished a whole season healthy and didn't miss more then 10 games?

And don't even get me started on Shaq. Decent addition TO Perkins and big baby but all he does is put fans in the seats, he ain't ***** nowadays. Now with Shaq, Allen and Garnett retiring in the next few years, THEY HAVE NOTHING!!!

They just ruined their whole season and too what? Get Green who is a decent role player at best? Maybe give you some good young energy? Do that ***** when your old guys retire but they just threw away the season. They posed problems because they were big but now their fragile.

The BUlls would smoke them in the playoffs and so will the heat probably. Theyll have a hard enough time beating the Knicks in 7 games in the 1st round even if there still struggling. Damn shame, would have been a hell of a east conference playoffs if they kept Perkins and were healthy to have all out wars of a series with Chicago and Boston.
