A lot of good ones mentioned already so I'm only gonna add *Dead Like Me* the series, it's only 2 seasons. The movie was utter crap but the show is paced just right and has a good sense of humor IMO.

- The Shield = one of the best opening episode of any series.....ever. Will hook you right in. You will hate the lead character with an absolute passion after episode one, then they spend the whole season making you love him. A very very very good show.

- The Wire = Barack *****'s favourite show and just incredibly real and slick.

- The Sopranos = nuff said = best tv show all time.

You should have bought Breaking Bad instead of Weeds. Weeds is good, but Breaking Bad is much more compelling. I actually have only started watching Breaking Bad last week and I'm already caught up, I couldn't stop watching it.

I also second Nip/Tuck. I have only seen what's on OnDemand (15 episodes or so) but I got jist of the main storylines and they were all good. The show is pretty twisted, some of the patients ask for the weirdest things.
