I'll admit that sometimes I do think about some tough subjects. Think, ruminate, worry, those may all be the same. I wouldn't ever want to be in a state of apathy, though. If that takes years off my life, then so be it.

I hear ya man. All kidding aside, I used to get worked up over political stuff a lot and found out that all it did was get me worked up and it had a negative affect on my realtionships with people because everyone has a stance and it may differ a lot from yours. It's a lot to bear man. In the end, all you can do is take care of and love your own and don't sweat the other **** too hard.

i just recently got approached by a woman at the gas station, said she had six kids and told me some story about them... but I am cynical about that..lived in both STL and Chi Town... So know all about the beggars. Plus i was late for work, so she caught me at a really bad time.. Maybe I should have helped her, but I had no proof her story was legit.

I did just give this guy a 10 to get somethin to eat a few days back though, so I give to the needy sometimes.

I saw a old men begging for money near a local Wal-Mart. I gave him 5 bucks. About a week after, I saw him driving in a 1998 BMW.......

That made me conscious giving away money to "homeless" people.

Individual cases differ.


A young woman with little means and perhaps lacking the knowledge to help herself, carrying a child she probably loves with all her heart, is not comparable to the average panhandler or scammer on the street (the latter of whom get nothing from me personally).


Seeing something like the TS saw messes with my conscience is all I know. I can't walk by something like that and just not care.

Most of us help who we can when we can ,but most of the time beggers are just drug addicts and such.
