There are only 2 elite centers in the NBA right now Gasol and Howard, guess what 1996 looked like..
Shaq
Hakeem Olajuan
David Robinson
***embe Mutombo
Alonzo Mourning
Patrick Ewing
ALL IN THERE PRIME!
NBA is more watered down today because the college game is crap, and talent is shared with the D-league and European leagues. There were like 15 REALLY great players when Jordan was playing, today there are only 5 who can be considered great today, and they all are selfish b****.
David Robinson was unstoppable...except for Hakeem, and maybe Shaq.
Mount Mutombo kept on finger wagging but the Nuggets weren't getting anywhere.
Mourning was still adjusting to Miami at the time, too hot-headed still.
Ewing can't do **** against Chicago and Houston (.......Indiana!).
Mutombo, Mourning and Ewing were all products of Georgetown....supposed to be the best in creating and developing great centers, and statistics-wise they are great. But (with the exception of Mourning) they only won 1 championship at the time these three were playing (Mourning was way past his prime when Miami won in 2004).
The great centers at this era, were still owned by the Bulls . Just sayin'.

When MJ finds the fountain of youth and goes back to his 1st three peat era-form then yeah let's debate on that.
Another fact: The Bulls won the last three championships (1996,97,98) when the NBA was watered down by the expansion teams (Raptors and Grizzlies).
72-10 anyone?
90's defense were tough as nails compared today
you will see blood even in the 1st round of playoffs

haters always gotta ruin the parade.. mj is great, kobe is great..
alot of you guys use revisionist history when comparing the 2.. i can definately say mj was a worse teammate out of the 2..
we can debate for hours about the subject, ill just leave with this
a Jordan-less Bulls to the knicks to 7 games in the eastern conference finals, could of made the nba finals.. that shows you how great of a team Jordan had

they talk **** because kobe missed 18 shots in the clincher for a finals.
jordans last finals game he missed 20 shots. he shot a little better than kobe did last night (kobe was an awful 6-24) but still don't act like jordan never had bad shooting nights.
people always want to talk about kobe's teammates carrying him as if jordan didn't have any help.
not every game was won by jordan by himself.

Also MJ always closed out the opponent before the 7th game.
Bynum > Longley
Gasol > Rodman
Artest < Pippen
Fisher > Harper
Jordan didn't do it himself.
As far as all that watered down stuff say what you want but The Bulls themselves would have had a hard time with this Celtics team and that Pistons team from a few years back.
Regardless LAKERS are the champions
