This has been done to death, remove you American-tinted glasses, and accept the fact that Calzaghe did what many have failed, and refused to do.

Mayweather would never fight Manny in his hometown, but Calzaghe had the guts & skill to come in the States, and embarrass 2 American legends.
I don't think we'll ever be able to say the same about Floyd.
Right he didn't want to duck anyone.....................BUT.

For some reason he sat on his WBO titles and never left Wales?

    Dude no.

Why in the hell should everyone have to fly to him.........just for a belt that really isn't worth much to them?

Nobody flew to him, so he hoped on the plane and did it himself.
      Mayweather would never do that.
That's what distinguishes a great fighter, to a good one.
      Risk is rewarded.
Calzaghe's risks have been greater than Mayweather's.

        What reward though?

You're referring to the Jones situation clearly as well. Forget the idea of match ups and let's think about the fight even being made. Well for one both parties must be satisfied. And TBH that's what they do for a living........some people say they don't fight for free, I call them smart. The people who really don't care about money are different, and maybe a bit off lol in they only want to fight. So here's the catch.

You have reputable fighter A who has an expensive lifestyle. It's Roy with his need for the finer things in life and who can't blame him.

You have reputable fighter B who is a modest man, spends the day with his pops who in turn works his ass off to foster his boy. They don't need much

Who needs the money more? Ideologically it's Calzaghe right?

But the World doesn't work that way.

Nothing happens until you get paid, end of.

That would all make sense, but that's not the case here.
America is no longer the Mecca of boxing, and if you're looking to make money, the wiser choice is the Millennium Stadium, which has a capacity of roughly 75,000; compare that to MSG's 20,000. And this is ignoring the fact that we, as fans, should not bother with this stuff. The hassle of flying, moving to a new time-zone, and adapting with a new environment, while emerging victorious in spectacular fashion is nothing short than a statement of greatness.

Remember, and I mean always remember.

Boxing is about Money. Hence the Term Prize Fighter.

If you waste your life training, and being successful that's great. But what will you have to show for yourself in the end? End up on the street like so many great fighters have done? It's life man. You need to protect some things somehow, and I'm not exactly Mr Savings ok. Just saying.

I know why these mother****ers fight for money.

A chill pill for stating an obvious fact?
That fact that today's Mosley is nothing compared to what he used to be.
This has nothing to do with Manny though, so the fact that you have to bring up a "chill pill" shows more about your state of mind, rather than mine.
