Originally posted by WizardSee this is a common mistake IMO, who YOU vote in effects people all around the world, that is how powerfull america has become. Anyone who is effected by your country has a right to speak up without being defamed.
I guess we could also complain about WHO votes. It's pretty straight forward to me and the rest of the world.
Our country is based on the foundation of Democracy. That means that we choose who we vote for. If another country, particulary a country who HATES us and believes in the bombing of innocents, etc, doesn't like it, then I say we voted correctly.
If you can't do anything to change it, then don't complain.

At least Kerry had the balls enough to get out there and try to become president, versus most people getting online and just moaning and groaning about how bad our President is.
Bush is still our President and there isn't a whole lot anyone can do about it, so why complain? Unless you're going to write him a letter, or the congressmen? But then again, you aren't a citizen of the USA, so nothing you say or do could help.
I really don't understand people who mouth off when they couldn't DO anything about it to begin with. At least as a US Citizen, I CAN do something. I vote. I write letters. So does my husband. We stay in contact with our congressman when we have a complaint.
That's not being apathetic.
That's being an AMERICAN!!!

Kaps your being extra humorous today, everyone that makes anti-american comments does not "hate" you, that word "hate" is a tactic used to put anyone that criticizes your country on the defencive and in the end, make to look "evil" or bad. The american media has it down to a science.
For the record, the ones that actually do hate you, DID infact do something about it besides ***** and moan and I wouldn't doubt it if Hollywood came out with a movie and a new list of hero's along with it.
Your an interesting character, lots of MMA knowledge(one of the only posters I mostly agree with regarding MMA) but virtually none on pol"I"tics. At least world politics anyway.
Trust me, if I had family members die because of american foreign policy, I would do something about it. Your Country boasts about being ********ic, but when people try to do things that way, like Canada and the soft wood lumber dispute, America uses economic bullying to avoid paying. "make no mistake about it" as George W. would say, you owe my country money and the international community has said so more then once. It just so happens to be the roughly the same amount of money that George W. raided from your social security funds.
American politics has nothing to do with me? Trust me, if your country's politics had nothing to do with me, and you weren't our number one trading partner, WE WOULD SHUT OFF THE POWER TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
But we can't, because you would **** us, like you **** everyone else with your perfect economic marvel of a country. But o yes, who you vote in doesn't have ANYTHING to do with me.
This is astonishing.

So your saying I should just sit back and watch, take it all in and do or say nothing because I can't vote in your country?
I believe the bitching and moaning rebuttle is weak and groundless. When I attack american politics I'm not just attacking who is currently in office, power corrupts me-lady. Your country has alot of power right now. It's unfair to say, "why don't you do something about it". Why NOT, you ask? Because I would be branded a *********. The only logical thing for someone outside your country to do would be to try to get to the people. The internet is the biggest best form of comminication for this besides television. That's the only way I can break in down, I think discussion like this should be encouraged by americans, it's the only alternative for swaying your politics besides terrorism.

Wizard, just let it go man. Its pointless. There are reasons Americans voted for Bush, some of them legitimate, some not. My point is that Americans are very different from the rest of the world. Not better, not worse, just different.
We need to accept that and move on. Support them when they do the right thing, keep our ass out of the fire when they don't. We should worry about our country, and not theirs.

Wizard, I agree that I do not know much about PolItics, but you take every chance you get to try and talk **** on America. I believe your first post here was about how Americans dont have any top ten fighters. How do you expect us not to get defensive when you post **** like that? We dont go out of our way to talk **** about canada.....
