    PhD topics

    Sup n****z,

Basically, as you know I cant get a job right now. Recession is force ****ing everyone. So I have decided to go back to school, scholarship pending.

    I need a PhD topic. 2 rules:

    (1) It has to be in IR/Politics or History
    (2) Has to be US/UK centric
    (3) Has to have a hypothesis at its core. Ie it cant be a purely empirical study.

I have been in contact with numerous UK and US schools, and University of Iowa have given me some positive feedback about potential funding, given my [outstanding] grad school grades. I am also in contact with UCLA, American University [DC] and Stanford. In the UK, LSE and City have scholarships open for 2010 entry.

    Any ideas?

Not necessarily. I would approach it from a political standpoint and tie it in with the WTO and Codex Alimentarius.

My focus is foreign policy analysis and security studies, buddy.

Lets try and stick within those.

Any more feedback on what direction you're trying to go in?

I'm studying political economy myself. An interesting topic is the political aspects of the present financial crisis.

This is a great book on the topic:

I borrowed it from my professor and read most of it, however I haven't been able to obtain a copy yet. I'm planning to go to central Tokyo soon to visit some book stores to try to get some English reading materials.

Anyways, this may be too much of an economics topic for you, was just a quick thought.

Any feedback on your interests? Btw, my undergraduate background is in International Studies, International Economics and (minor) Middle Eastern history.
