Now I think my old man usually watches Jimmy Kimmel.

The only one I ever liked, was the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I think that one was probably the best one. Discovered him when I was in college and I fell in love with the charm.

He was awkward and very flirtatious with the special guests, but he wasn’t creepy with it. He was very charming. This was of course before that whole “me too” stuff.

It seemed like he didn’t have a lot to work with. He was self deprecating with the shows quality. I’m convinced a lot of it was improve. Not a whole lot of structure. No live band to play a jingle. He didn’t even have a late night side kick until 5 years into the show when he got Geoff Peterson which was amazing because it was a robot skeleton.

Idk. Something about the show drew me in. Sometimes the special guests were different too. He would have serious interviews with scientists and they would be informative, or they would be crazy and hilarious.

Idk. I loved that show and I shed a tear during its final episode.
I loved Craig Ferguson too. Would watch it with my dad sometimes and he had some of the best bands on to perform sometimes. Would come on right before reruns of Becker with Ted Danson. Arsenio's original talk show was a lot of fun. A lot of people forget he had another talk show later on. Was okay. Liked when he brought back Dice Clay when he did that Woody Allen movie. I liked him even better in that Star is Born remake. Carson I lost respect for when I found out that he stopped talking to Joan Rivers after he found out that she got her own talk show. Total **** move. Really, she was just supposed to stay under your thumb and not try to make it on her own and have her own success Johnny? FOH.

Johnny Carson seemed like the king of that sh^t watching old clips on YT. I was more into Letterman & Arsenio in real time tho.

I forgot about him. He was good. Also David Steinberg was witty.

People trash Leno these days, but he was pretty funny back in the day. So was Conan, but I think I outgrew his humor. Before he quit hosting his show, he just seemed more obnoxious than witty, even though I still like the guy.
Agree. Leno gets a lot of sh^t over the Conan thing, but if you've seen his legit stand-up pre-hosting the tonight show, btw idek if a lot of ppl see him as a comedian first & foremost, he was one of the best stand-ups of his day if not #1.

Jenny Jones and Rikki Lake had their moments
Ditto Maury (he hit his stride with the ''who is the baby daddy'' schtick)
                Unconventional talkshows
                The ''special guests/musical number'' format...meh
                IMHO
