You fought and got your retina detached?

2 weeks before I was due to fight. I mean it can happen to anyone any time but I did catch a thumb in my eye the Monday training session (EDIT: my own thumb that is, had a lazy guard and got it knocked back into my eye blocking a stright right)- I think 23rd of Jasnuary - and it was after that I sarted getting some occlusion in my left eye. Thought nothing of it at first. Was originally planning to go ahead anyway but then started getting flashes and the occlusion got worse which was when I started Googling symptoms and hit a match with detached retina. Spent the Friday in A+E during which day pretty much completely lost vison in the eye, gradually going blind (from what it seems now was my retina peeling away from the optic nerve) while being shunted from department to department only for them to tell me what I already knew at about 7 PM. retinal detachment. Emergency operation at Manchester eye hospital on the Saturday. Just went in yesterday for the follow up and they say it's healing as it should buit that it's possible there's gonna be a permanent degredation.

In real terms for me 4truth what it means is looking through my left eye is like looking through really thick old warped glass and everythings on a slight - maybe 5 degree -slant with a slight uneven fisheye effect. Basically I can look at stuff distorted with my left eye or relatively normal with my right eye (I got a replacement lens from previous surgery in my right but it cant get perfect focus cos i9t's a fixed lens) but if I try to have both eyes open at the same time gives me really blurry double vison and a massive headache after a bit cos it's it's l;ike my brain can't stitch the two disparate inputs together.

EDIT: Ah here ya go.. that's me stright outta surgery at about 8.30 Saturday night having just spent 2 fkn horrible hours with mfers scraping around in my eyeball whilst I was fully concious with the blood and eye gunk still on my ****** hospital hat... had to spend the next 24 hours ass up. My only concern at that point however was trying to finfd a stream for Beterbiev vs Yarde that'd work through my phone on the NHSs crap firewalled Wi-Fi.. nurses thought I was fkn insane
