It's like when Jesse Ventura won a judgement against Chris Kyle slandering him in his book. Chris Kyle had died during trial, so it was his estate that had to pay the judgement. Anti-Ventura people were accusing him of taking money from a widow and her children. Ventura then pointed while he indeed won a judgement against Mr Kyle's estate, it was the insurance (I believe it was the publisher's insurance) who would actually be paying the judgement and not a dime came from the estate.

GEICO only insured the car. GEICO paid because the STD was transmitted in the car.
