Sweden Starts Microchipping COVID Passports in People

Well, here we go…the long talked about chipping of humans. What else will they start tracking now that they are using COVID to chip people? Right now it’s voluntary, at what point will it also be mandated just like the vaccine and lockdowns?

People in Sweden have started getting implanted with microchips that contain their COVID-19 passports, .

The chip, developed by Epicenter, can store a COVID-passport under the skin.

"Implants are very versatile technology that can be used for many different things, and right now it is very convenient to have COVID-passport always accessible on your implant," Epicenter's chief disruption officer .

"In case your phone runs out of battery," Sjöblad says, referring to the COVID-passports on phones, the chip, he adds, is "always accessible to you. So of course, that's how we use this technology today, next year we are going to use it for something else."

But according to an article from , Sjöblad warns that because all that is required to read these chips is the swipe of a cellphone over the body, an implantee's information is at risk of being hijacked.

"These chips are easy to read," he warns, "which means that I can sneak up to you with my mobile and read what is on your chip. I usually tell people not to write the secrets of their lives on their chip."

Parsons' article mentions that around "6,000 people in the country have so far had a chip inserted in their hands." However, that is not to say those people got a microchip inserted in their body for a COVID related passport, as the chips could be used for other purposes.

The chips, which are slightly larger than a grain of rice, can be implanted in the arm, between the thumb and forefinger, or in other body parts.

Slippery slopes, although implantable technology has been widely predicted for decades and as pointed out the people involved here were as much tech geeks who were already 'embracing the future'. This kinda **** on the one hand scares the bejesus outta me but on the other kinda makes me wonder at what point folk were gonna start noticing that they pay for the priviledge of carrying their own personal surveillence and spying devisces with em wherever they go and even brag about it. The time for waking up was probably about 20 years ago - ****, longer - but better late than never I guess.

I genuinely don't know... maybe just a reasonable and logical step into a bright new techno future, maybe a step towrds a dystopian nightmare... either way not for me thanks. Too long in the tooth... I've steadfastly resisted track and trace on my phone and this one's a step too far for my old ass. Seriously won't be the slightest surprised if it's considered freakishly archaic not to have at least a wearable chip within a generation though.

What happened to 'if you ain't doing anything wrong you got nothing to fear' tho?

Under skin microchips have been used in Sweden for a while (pre Covid).

More people have gotten then recently because you can also add your vaccine status. Convenience etc.

Hahaha yeah I posted this a few days ago.

Typical, the ones that defend government all the time are like. Meh it's ok. Some how I'm not shocked.

Not by me, although this was absolutely a coming technology with or without COVID. Not for my old ass though.

I don't 'defend Government' I point out the huge and gaping flaws in the nonsense you keep posting. The distinction between the two things ain't even a subtle one.

WRT this though it really ain't news and it really ain't COVID related in particular... the idea of wearable or implantable chips is literally decades old and it's a technology that was ultimately coming to mass adoption anyway. Ain't for me but nor does it surprise me or anyone else who follows tech at all... basically just the next step along from smartphones. I honestly doubt you'd be raising more than an eyebrow either if someone hadn't made it a story about COVID passports rather than just a techfetish story.

                )

As with vaccine mandates though I'd oppose any attempt to mandate this shat although in the case of implants I actually would be willing to get off my ass and be a body on the streets. My protest muscles getting a little flabby these days anyway..

Two years ago if you told these same people the world would be plagued by a pandemic created by China and backed and funded by the U.S., and that we would be forced to take a vaccine that doesn’t work, they would have said you’re crazy and laughed at you. If you had told them people would be chipped to prove vaccination status they’d never speak to you again. Well, here we are.

Easy guy you're getting ahead of yourself. I didn't say you. Why did you think I was talking about you?
