El Chapo wife gets only 3 years.

Great deal if you ask me, and everyone thought she would snitch which probably would have been worst than a lengthy sentence considering cartels go after your entire family
The wife of Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison after pleading guilty to helping her husband run his multibillion-dollar criminal empire.

Emma Coronel Aispuro also helped her husband plan a dramatic escape through a tunnel dug underneath a prison in Mexico in 2015 by smuggling a GPS watch to him disguised as a food item, prosecutors said during a hearing in federal court in Washington. That helped those digging the tunnel pinpoint his location and reach him. The leader of the Sinaloa cartel was recaptured the following year.

Prosecutors had asked for four years in prison, but U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras imposed a shorter term, saying her role was a small piece of a much larger organization. Her arrest doesn’t seem to have reduced the harm caused by the cartel, he said. “There appears to be no shortage of willing participants,” he said.

She had faced a minimum of 10 years in prison

I think this guy is the new Chapo.

        El Mencho.

They say he has actually taken the violence to another level compared to Chapo...if you can believe that. Then there's also of course El Chapo's actual successor (Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada García) who is in the running as well.

She cooperated with the US authorities plain & simple she can ever go home (to Mexico) her best shot at at any real life is the witness protection program.

How do these guys get so powerful and why can no one find them if they are doing so much business?

They're extremely well connected. To the highest reaches of their government. When guys like this are paying off government officials to the tune of literally tens of millions, the Mexican government has a genuine and even critical interest in covering up the whereabouts of top cartel bosses.
