If anyone remembers, when Bonds walked to the plate at Yankee stadium, the crowd was booing the hell out of him. After that bomb he hit, the crowd went nuts with cheers.

Yep, a lot of big cities are front runners. They respected the skills. I'm not surprised.

Mcgwire use to hit much farther home runs.

I actually looked up some stats from his 73 hr season. Some people believe the park in SF was made for Bonds and it had a "short RF".
              • Right field foul line: 309 feet
              • Left field foul line: 339 feet
              • Right-center: 421 feet
              • Center field: 404 feet

Of those 73 home runs, only 38 were actually at home, while the rest were away games.

Of that 38, 12 were hit either in Right Field or Right Center field and with that 24 ft tall wall.

Of those 12, those home runs were 370+ feet
              417 RF
              420 RCF
              380 RCF
              370 RF
              410 RCF
              420 RCF
              400 RF
              390 RF
              420 RF
              320 RF
              430 RCF
              430 RCF

Only 1 of those 12 was less than 370ft and at 320 feet, which still clears the direct line of RF wall at 309.

Bonds did not benefit anyway from any down the line pulls of 309 feet home runs. If he happened to even pull any balls directly down the line, they probably went foul.

Original Yankee stadium and even Fenway have short right fields and even with short walls as well.

directly down the line is short, but look at that height of that wall and look how much distance it gains just by going away from the line. 421 at it's deepest and still even a high wall. So many shots hit by Bonds in "triples ally" and off the wall that could've easily been home runs anywhere else.

Bonds had the body of a WWE wrestler. He missed the boat on making the transition for big $$$$$$$ like Rodman and Mongo did.

He sure was big. He put in all that time in the gym and the steroids allowed him to keep pushing. There's no doubt he didn't put in all the long hours and hard work at the gym. Def didn't get that way with a simple injection. He put in so much time getting that big. It wasn't like some fake captain america serum that he took and all of a sudden got big lol
