Mainly, what I hear in the media, around town, on talk shows, etc. are people spouting arm-chair theories which are technically flawed in one way or another.

Also don't get me started on the politicians. Though it's worth noting that they manipulate facts more so than they misunderstand them.

For me economics has always been 'the science of common scence' (I didn't create the statement).

People have knacks for various things, I happen to have a knack for economics. Originally I was taking some remedial classes on economics, and I was acing every test without studying one bit, and a professor recomended that I major in it.

Still, I find myself wanting to scream at my radio on a daily basis because of the bull**** I hear. Usually, it's **** which sounds good on the face (almost utopitarian in some cases), yet is technically flawed in some way(s) or another(s).

I love economics. Especially macroeconomics brought some books for holiday’s reading. The wealth of nations, the general theory of employment interest and money and others.

I am amazed at some of these politicians who have a degree in law can become treasurer.

You're one of those people who is interested in the field, and who actually endeavours to educate himself about it. I commend you for that, you're not the type I'm referring to.

Ok I defended us being on this forum on a Friday night.

No way to defend discussing economic issues on a Friday night.

I wrote one of my senior theses on John Stuart Mill, the guy was quite an egalitarian and was easily one of the greatest intellecutals of all time as well.

His **** is timeless, there is much which could be learned from his writings today.
