This is what I think.

We done alright yesterday and chased the win.

But we could just as likely lose to Uruguay as win as we will be open to the counter as a draw would probably put us out as we really need to chase another win.

But we have to 'go' for it again. Rooney needs to be left out unfortunately.

But also another bad fact is that teams which lose the first game RARELY go through to the next stage.. it's vitally important to get a result in the first game. That's why the first round of matches are usually pretty ****e and boring because people can't afford to lose

It's not just Uruguay.. Costa Rica can give England problems.. i wouldn't be shocked if Joel Campbell scores another worldy.

Rooney is not right.. but i seriously doubt Hodgson has the bollocks to drop him for a crunch game.. Woy is in a tough situation.. Rooney on form is top quality.. Leave him out and England lose.. he will get slaughtered.. Leave him out and England win.. the guys confidence will be shot.. and he will be no use

Pirlo showed Gerrard what a world class centre midfielder looks like.

You know what pisses me off? that that mug Erikson shunted Scholes out on the wing and played Gerrard/Lampard in the middle for two tournaments and basically made Scholes retire. Scholes is on a par with Pirlo.. Lampard and Gerrard? no chance.. at least Lampard is a very effective footballer (in the PL)

People being harsh on Gerrard ithink. He basically did what he was supposed to do, pick the ball up deep and spray it around. If he can get the ball to players like Sterling and Henderson in space (which he did for most the game) then thats his job done

He isnt ever going to be as effective as Pirlo doing it, but it was serviceable.

Our lack of a proper defensive midfielder will hurt us though. Barry should have gone with the team.

Gerrard has no discipline.. the guy should not be playing.. the day of his roy of the rovers type BS is over... I'd even have Wilshere in there all though i don't rate him much
