To be honest I'm a lot more interested now than I was 12 months ago about seeing how we get on this summer.
I'd probably be content if he just plays a few of the players who've had breakout seasons like Henderson/Lallana/Shaw/Barkley/Sterling. What I feared was that we'd end up with basically the same squad of players that we've had in the last 3 tournaments but I don't think that will happen now.
I think everyone (myself included) expects us to get manhandled by Italy like we did in the euros so there's not much pressure for a change. Italy are always pretty crap in the group stages at world cups so we might surprise people if Woy puts out a side with a few unknowns.
We should do what they did with the 2003 England Rugby squad. A few tournaments before 2003 they knew they werent good enough, a lot of their players were old and on their way out, so they put together a young team and brought them through together.
Get these young English players together, write this tournament off (we wont win outside of a complete miracle) and plan for the future. We got some decent talent coming through.
He's quality. He movement is very similar to Henry (nowhere near as good a player, obviously). There are not that many top notch strikers out there who are guaranteed goals - and Remy has enough ability to be an asset.
Outside of Ibrahimovich and Suarez there are not any guarantees out there.
Actually the Henry/Remy comparison is what i was thinking about when i mentioned him earlier.. It would be a dream for ozil.. most Arsenal fans have been crying about lack of pace with Walcott out these past weeks
Do you forget the last Liverpool striker you brought? even Suarez isn't a guarantee given your track record with strikers.

I am the same.. over the past few years i had basically stopped watching England friendly games. But it seems quite a few young players are coming through.. like the ones you mentioned + Townsend.. Sturridge etc
Who can actually pass the ball a bit and have the ability to beat a man.. something England have sorely lacked for donkeys years.

I think Suarez would score for anyone to be fair.
Ideally I think we need a good big man who is strong and can run in behind. Balotelli would be a good match for me but he wouldn't score lots of goals about 12-15 in the league. People are high on Lukaku but his first touch can be very bad - he is more of on the shoulder type as a opposed to a target man who can also run in behind. Despite his size he is more Jermain Defoe/Michael Owen than Didier Drogba. The front man at Chelsea has to join it up.
It is hard to say who would be a successful Chelsea striker though. It is obviously a tougher job than it should seem- because it should be pretty easy.

I think he is horrible tbh.. great footballer.. and very strong..
But in all honesty to much trouble.. there are better strikers out there..
As a United fan i have to thank him.. because imo him and Mancini destabilized.. that team. City fans will tell you they love him. But he was not good enough for all the baggage he brought.. City would have been much better off with Aguero/Dzeko/Tevez and say Negredo during that time.
I don't think it's a coincidence the year City won the title.. they looked like they were out of it.. losing or drawing to Arsenal and then Ballotelli gets sent of and is banned for the run in.
My irrational loathing of Barcelona coupled with Jose being there for a few years made me a bit of a fan. Now they have Carlo and Paul Clement there and it is interesting to see Bale too. I hope they batter Barcelona. Barcelona have at least 9 players that I would like to toe punt directly up the arse if I had the capability and the means to realise that dream.
I really wanted Chelsea to draw them again in the CL.
I remember when Adam was saying moyes cracked after the Chelsea for not giving an interview (even though he did, just sky sports didn't have the air time to show it).
