Lol, I think he's emotional. He cried when Portugal got knocked out in 2006 WC, lost in the final in 2004 and when United lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup in 2007. Also cried when we won the champions league.

He's just emotional, also he's been quoted in Portuguese newspapers as saying it was for Eusebio which made him emotional.

**** you.. you mug.. He was emotional because his hero Eusabio had died

Oh and anyone who says Ribery forgets that this is about the individual..

If you took Ribery out of Bayern they would have still won the CL/Bundersliga last year.. he is one of many in that team that played well.. perhaps he stood out.. out of all of them but not by much

Take Ronaldo out of Madrid and they would be around mid table.. he is carrying that team..

Ronaldo is clearly the best in the world with Messi second.. Ribery isn't even close to them..

But I am glad Ronaldo won. I don't really know enough or watch enough of Ribery to really rate him that highly.

I thought Robben essentially won them the Champions League. He had a brilliant tournament.
        But it's not..

Sneidjer was far more influential in winning the treble/getting to WC finals yet Messi beat him.. Sneidjer even was top goal scorer in the WC.. god that was a real robbery

This award is best in the world.. not best player in the best team of the world award. NO ONE would take Ribery over Messi or Ronaldo.. thats fact..

Like you said he wasn't even the most influential member of Bayerns team

It's who had the best year.

Ribery is a fraud. Bayern will still dominate without him, and look at him at the International stage.

Ronaldo is the highest goal scorer for Portugal and is already certified a legend. Ribery will only be remembered as being part of France's darkest and most pitiful era of their history.

Says it all, Ronaldo deserved to win. Without him, Real Madrid would be on the same level as Atletic Bilbao. He also got Portugals ticket to Brazil. Say what you want about Sweden, they're a great team.

Real Madrid are the most expensively assembled team in the history of football.

They don't half over pay for players though. Bale £86M? Isco and Illarramendi for 60M. Season before they overpaid for Modric and De Maria.

These Spanish clubs borrow money from banks. It's a joke.

They already were before those signings. Higuain and Benzema used to get a healthy amount of goals themselves so it was hardly all C.Ronaldo.

Most young players cry when they lose big games. He hasn't been like that for years.

He was more arsed about winning the Ballon d'or than winning the league with R.Madrid/United.

Individual honours are like a bonus thing at the end of the year, you play the game to win medals.
