Moldova are horrible - even for a small nation they are still crap.

Nobody thinks that was world class and nobody has any faith whatsoever in this England team.

It is old and past it.

But at least now Rickie Lambert is in it there is a good story and somebody to root for.

I thought Theo Walcott was particularly bobbins yesterday. Arsenal really do well to get so much out of him. His limitations are so much more apparent in an England shirt.

It is better for the long-term health of the English game if we start failing to qualify for tournaments.

      It's a shame really.

In domestic-club competition they are unstoppable. But when it comes to international level they get their asses kicked.

      So much potential wasted.

Who? England? What are you on about?

Yeah to be fair we don't have any potential. Our No 9 is now a former Rochdale striker.

I am happy for Lambert though. If he features I am relatively hate free and I think the crowd inside Wembley are too.

I hope if England do muddle through to the World Cup I hope that they not only take Rickie but start him just for banter.

^^^A rare good article in the Daily Mail about football. No doubt they will vilify Rickie if he fails to score against Ukraine.

                Yes I'm talking about England.

Let's be honest. England does have potential to be a great team, and now with some new young blood on their team. Their main problem is that they choke when they need to step it up. The manager also plays a role if the team wins/loses.

Nah, this team lacks actual quality.

The 2004-2006 was the best chance for England to win: Ferdinand, Terry, Cole, G.Nev, Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Hargreaves, Owen, and Rooney. The only thing that team was really missing was a left winger and that they choked routinely.

That was, on paper, a team that should probably have won Euro 2004 and been genuinely competitive in the World Cup. Both times they lost to a weaker Portugal team. Even then they made a meal out of qualifying for tournaments.

If that team had a Mourinho-esque manager the would have been more successful.

Now though, they're not good enough. Jagielka, Cahill, Walker, old Lamps, old Gerrard, Theo Walcott, James Milner, Rickie Lambert?

It is the worst England team in my lifetime. Roy Hodgson is doing a good job in terms of results but I think most people recognize this team is not good enough so a change in the way we play needs to be introduced even if we fall off even further in the short term. A sense of style needs to be introduced so we start producing more Jack Wilsheres and less Connor Wickhams.

                  We're 10 years behind Europe's elite.

Not Wickham's biggest fan are you?

I think '04 was a combination of us crumbling and some crap refereeing. You could watch the France game a hundred times and still wonder how we managed to throw that away.

Then the quarters with Rooney getting injured after 5 minutes and Campbell having that header disallowed which was bollocks.

I think we would've won the world cup in 02' if we'd got past Brazil. Turkey in the semis then Germany (who we'd just beat 5-1 away) in the final. Sickening.

Yeah that's the one that came to mind for me. Sol Campbell's disallowed header, it was dubious.
