Anderson has been injured alot his career at United (bout half this season)

What's really tragic, are Rio Ferdinand's semi-recent injuries.

He went from being maybe the best overall back on the Planet to a Fixture. Well I mean if he even plays.

That's just all messed up.

I think Terry and Puyol are the best defenders in all Europe.

When they're in top form, of course.

Pulling strings and or the threat to head in the box.

But defensively he's just way better. That's just clear.

Rio has made SO DAMN MANY outstanding saves as a back I've seen.

In theory Terry/Ferdinand is the ultimate combo, Terry the no nonsense defender who puts his head/body on the line. Ferdinand alot better technically and makes up for Terry's lack of pace, he puts his body on the line but not in the manner of a Terry/Adams imo.

I'd agree but I really like Lucio and Pique.

They're sick as hell.

Right now I think it's hard to rate any backs over them Centrally. The kind of sheer defensive sacrifice is pretty outstanding.

200 lbs isn't much to a NFL player.

But they also can't run worth **** compared to footballers.

So yeah. They'll just gas out and need oxygen/gatorade. On the sidelines.

At his very best (World Cup 2002) i think Rio was! the best CB in the world, problem is he did not always performs at his best and suffered from lapses in concentration over the years, although that might be less likely than it used to be, although he did *** up recently before getting injured.

I thought Carvalho used to be terrific CB but that he is a bit past it now.

Sol Campbell (prime) is one of, if not the best CB of the last how many years, immense in his prime, truly World Class back in the day. Sol made team of the tournament twice in two major competitions and got robbed twice during his International days, once against Argentina, once against Portugal (Quater final), Sol scored in both games but they were disallowed goals.
