If that money is recouped.. or improved on its not crazy..
I never compared Ronaldo to any City signing. I used Ronaldo as an example of a club paying a premium. Same as they've just done with Illarramendi.

I know no one in here cares about teams not in the top four but some interesting signings for Reading this year.
Very excited to see how Royston Drenthe (free transfer) looks. If i remember rightly the guy was a speed demon. Should be more than good enough for the championship.
Then we got Wayne Bridge on a free as well. Obviously has had a piss poor last few years spending most of it on the bench, but again should be pretty decent in the championship.
Then some yankee doodle, Daniel Williams from Hoffenheim. A bit more pricey at £1.7 mill. Dont know anything about this kid as i dont follow German football.
Shame to see Nicky Shorey leave on a free though. He's half decent and we should really have been looking at making a couple of quid from him.
You glory hunters will be seeing us back in the prem soon enough

We could've just not signed Negredo/Jovetic and bought Cavani if we were so worried about some hypothetical scenario in which FFP has any effect.
FFP takes any effect whatsoever and we sign a new 300m sponsorship deal with etihad.

I really despise teams like Man City, Chelsea, Monaco and PSG, who throw their sugar daddy's money around.
It's because of teams like this that football is losing its soul.
It just shows that any old shltty teams can be taken ovet and become a force.
It takes a truly great manager to build a team, not buy one
