Watching the Sunderland game and all of a sudden City look like world beaters again. Why? Because Mancini has been trying to introduce flare and style into areas where they're not useful. What City needs are a core of solid but unspectacular players who do a job defensively, who provide a safety net for flare players, who chase down the ball doggedly when they lose it.
City looked ten times the team with Barry and Milner and Lescott playing. I know it's Sunderland and a game we expected to win but to do it so dominantly shows that there's something different tactically. I can't blame Mancini for trying to play with the tactics but I think there's a strong case for playing Milner and Barry and Lescott in the bigger games. I also think that Richards made a great case for inclusion at centre-half as well, partnered with Kompany. I wouldn't put him in right back because Zabaletta has been superb.

that's also why i think ramires is now in the pivot. he has the best motor of the whole team but he's also disciplined enough to not leave mikel on an island. mikel needs a ball winner paired with him and lampard ain't that.
i think at this point lampard is best as a cam, since he tries to be a striker when given defensive duties. he's still good but he doesn't really fit anymore, or at least would be 3rd or 4th option to the position he could fit. which means a giggs role.
arsenal can't handle the holy trinity.
West Ham are getting smashed later.

Because they're playing at home against a bum club whose best player is John O' Shea. Calm down, Gramps.
