I think Hazard's living up to the hype so far. Granted it's Reading and Wigan but still. His got more assists in 2 games than Downing had the whole of last season lol.

Something pretty much always happens when he has the ball. Can't wait until Marin is in the side too.

Oscar was a bit patchy when he came on but he is just adjusting to the speed. If we are going to win the league (could have an outside shot) Mikel needs to move the ball quicker. He just can't do it it seems.

We were so much more decisive when he wasn't there. Maybe we should just sack him off and try and outscore everyone.

Great Game - hard luck Reading especially Ian Harte - I can't believe he is still around as he was the slowest player in the league when he was in his early twenties he's sloth like now.

the problem imo is lampard.

mikel, to me, moves the ball efficiently with short quick passes. the problem lies in mata, hazard, or whoever plays rw on the day. has to drop back to pick up the ball from mikel because lampard decided to hang out with torres.

which to me does 2 things. 1) makes mikel play slow. and 2) clogs up running lanes for the forwards.

remember we aren't tossing the ball up to a target anymore. we are feeding through balls on runs into the box. kinda hard to do that playing a 4141 or 415.

Lampard is better when he stays deep these days he can pass well from that position. Mikel's passes are 98% pointless as he doesn't pass in between the lines of the oppositions midfield and attack and it is very circumspect anyway. He deserves his place in the team though because he was excellent in the last 6 months of last season but there are better players than Mikel out there.

He is neat and tidy but he doesn't get to enough loose ball either.

he can't do that with lampard up the field where torres is. lampard is still a capable player but he doesn't fit the current direction we are trying to go in. unless rdm is literally trying to play attacking ball while advancing a line of 4 or 5 at the opponents. which is pretty dumb cause it basically allows opponents to keep their shape. which is defending 101, keep the shape.

i think a pivot of mikel and oscar/hazard/mata. even meireles. we'd see a big improvement in mikel's play.

I thought Lampard done good job when he was the deepest midfielder himself but it is worth backing Mikel for a period at least you're right.

I think Essien should get more time Meireles is not really that good should keep him as a sub

That third goal Chelsea scored was brilliant football to be fair. One and two touch - even if Torres was offside it was an outstanding move!
