Lets be fair, United had a more of a claim for a pen than the City one.
I'm happy with the result, i disagree that United were hanging on because they weren't attacking in the same way in the second half like they did in the first. Looked more like we were just trying to see out the game, we just didn't do a very good job of it!

Sending off was harsh i'd be pissed if i were a City fan, at the same time if you go in 2 footed you always run the risk of getting sent off nowadays. Mancini saying Rooney tried to get him sent off was rich as in the Liverpool game Mancini was wielding imaginary cards at the refs from the touchline.

Decent match though for both sets of supporters.

Well desperate goal line defending in stoppage time when there's a goal in it is pretty much the definition of hanging on. I think United came out for the second half thinking defensively and were thrown by Mancini's tactical change.

Thing is he didn't really go in two-footed, not in the way that is worthy of a straight red. He went in with his right foot and won the ball and his left swung round afterwards. It's telling that Nani didn't go down or think that there was anything in it.

I think he was doing that immediately after Barry was sent off for what was a very soft challenge. It's more of a "hey ref, where's our card?" than a "hey ref, send him off!".

It looked very much on the replay as well as live that the ref wasn't even going to give a foul with Kompany (and indeed it wasn't a foul, he won the ball cleanly and retained possession after standing up) until Rooney ran over.

It was a great game in the end.

Just saw Kompany's sending off. No way was that a red card. City should feel robbed.

Tonight will probably be the only time I'll root for the dirty Leeds scum.

Chris Foy has had some shocking games recently though so it didn't surprise me when he gave the red. I was annoyed at the time because i thought it would ruin the game, but it turned out to be a great game in the end despite the challenge not being worthy of a red.

I think Nani actually staying on his feet after the challenge was enough evidence for it not to be a red

Espanyol fans were giving Dani Alves monkey chants yesterday.

Don't see why Barca are complaining about this, Busquets called Marcelo a monkey on cameras and they said nothing.

                **** em.

                  Spain's full of racist scumbags.

Demba Ba would get butt ****d out there. He's blacker then anything they've seen before.

You can't go in two-footed ffs. Look at the rules. Nani would be in hospital right now if he Kompany connected. It was a reckless unnecessary tackle.

Agreed, minds would be blown at the sight of Demba Ba's skin & lips...or hell even Gervinho's forehead.

I hate racism, it needs to be stopped.
