Still i'd take a pick off Sturridge, Mata, Merlies, Lampard, Anelka, Malouda, Drogba, Ramires as better attacking options

Torres has no excuse now playing with the likes of Meriles, Ramires and Mata

The Liverpool team that came 2nd back in 2008-09 was awesome. Reina, Mascherano, Gerrard, Alonso and Torres were all world-class. That's half the team that were world class.

Throw in Carragher who was still very good back in 2008-09 (now he is definitely shot), and Agger who is a terrific defender when fit. Plus we had Arbeloa, who is an awesome player and he's proven that at Real Madrid. Kuyt isn't brilliant but he scores and creates plenty of goals.

I think this Chelsea team is probably better than that Liverpool team but I'd prefer Reina over Cech, Gerrard over Lampard, Kuyt over Malouda, Alonso over Meireles, and Agger over Luiz.

Your right, he has no excuse but he isn't playing horrible. He isn't the beast at Liverpool but he isn't sitting on his laurels out there either.

He was locked down all night against Genk. Genk played incredible defense. 3 Genk defenders around him at all times. No one can do anything against that.

Add that everyone was walking or standing still when the ball wasn't in their possession. How can it all be Torres' fault?

A great portion of football is determined by how players are moving without the ball in their possession. Wouldn't you agree?
