To be fair, it is the hardest position on the pitch. You can attribute 90% of all goals to a full-back being caught out positionally but that's because that position is fookin' impossible to play properly. Even at Sunday League level it killed me, everyone always has a run on you, everyone always does less running than you, you never have anyone to pass the bloody thing too.

Good full-backs should be worth millions upon millions. Stuart Pearce would be worth £25 million easy in today's game.
Theres no such thing as 'hardest position on the pitch'

Some are just focused on more than others...mainly down the center

But the fact is, If your up against 1 of the best players in the world....e.g. Messi, or a Iniesta or a Vidic etc.....Your position (person against them e.g. defender, midfielder, striker) becomes the hardest....

Its who your against which makes it hard...

Every position is just important as the rest

Some people argue the goalkeeper is the hardest etc....in my eyes every position is just as important

The hardest position is easily the central midfielder, you get found out quickly in this position whether you play for a good team or a bad team. Central midfielder is the heart and soul of the team their success and failure is usually evident in the teams results.

        We can agree to disagree.

I say it is the hardest. I say centre-half is the easiest.

And an average footballer with a great knack for being in the right place and the right time can still be a great striker.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp on Spurs fans cheering ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who scored two goals against Liverpool on his home debut:

"Football's a funny old game. Saddam Hussein could have bought a football club and, if he'd pumped millions in, everyone would have sung, 'There's only one Saddam'.

Adebayor's worked hard today and put a real shift in. They really love him here."
