Yeah, but before hand he will sell every star player or slash their wages in half and make them leave.

He would make Castilla sick though.

But I like Mou, he aint letting noone hold him back and brings PURE THUGGERY onto the table, which is something that I like.

He's building the squad, this Madrid squad isnt finished. Last season was just the construction of it. What's sick is this current building squad isn't so far off where Barca currently is...which are a complete squad already.

Football is the least like a business it's ever been. Clubs being run as a business struggle financially, even if they are extremely successful.
That's about the only difference (thank fuck) between a typical business and football in that one is about the bottom line and one isn't.

The foundations of success are gone. The owners of the club are selling off assets and lining their pockets. They cannot achieve success so they're cashing in on the trappings of their former success. If that weren't the case then that $50 million they just received would already have been spent.
Maybe, and that's one answer. Another is we have money but it's not being spent for whatever reason. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

When i talked about the "foundations" i never once mentioned the playing staff because players come and go all the time - that's not a foundation. What i'm referring to are the more traditional assets of a typical business, things like it's stadium, it's scouting systems/ knowledge and most importantly its reputation and brand, - things like that can't be created overnight. And it’s those thatt are the foundations of a modern day football club.

If you're going to play the wise old football soul act then it helps to be older than the current manager's reign.

That's an interesting point. Football is a business in every respect apart from profit.

The thing is Arsenal seem balanced on the edge of a sharp decline if the owners are not willing to spend some money. A new stadium, the most expensive tickets in the land, how long do you think they'll sustain that for if they don't make the champions league?

QPR have opened talks to sign Joey Barton on a free transfer from Newcastle according to BBC Sport.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has declared an interest in signing Liverpool's out-of-favour midfielder Joe Cole.

Atletico Madrid have given Diego Forlan permission to negotiate a possible transfer. The Spanish media are already linking him with a move to Inter Milan.

Hamburg have confirmed the signing of defender Slobodan Rajkovic for an undisclosed fee from Chelsea. The 22-year-old Serbian passed a medical yesterday and put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the German club today.

                What an epic game.

A friend of mine, big Newcastle supporter, made an observation about Barton on his facebook:

Joey Barton gets jailed for assault and ABH, the club stands by him. Joey Barton makes some twitter comments critical of the ownership of Newcastle and they put him on a free transfer. Shows where the club's priorities lie.

Barton is good for Newcastle, and if he's being critical of the ownership, guess what? So are the fans.

Fans do pay Mike Ashley's wages though, but he doesn't seem to give a shit.
