I think Ronaldo's bottlage in France keeps him out of that light. He redeemed himself in 2002 but Brazil had a great team with Ronaldinho and Rivaldo. Pele won it 3 times. And Maradonna basically won it on his own.

Oh and as it is now i agree winning the World Cup is very important for GOAT/ATG status. But if Football and that competition continue as it has for the last 8 years then i think that changes..

The last 2 World cups have been awful imo.. the CL on the other hand has gone on and improved. The top players also suffer after a long hard season and it's hard for them to keep to that kind of top level.

In 2018 or whatever it is in Qatar.. the top players are gonna go through a 50-65 game season then have to potentially go through another 7 games to win the cup in 50 degrees heat?? **** that man

There is far more pressure on footballers these days aswell.. that should be taken into account also. Pele was playing some **** bums in Brazil season long before he went to the world cup..
