What do you think of Uniteds targets? Diarra, De Gae, Winger from Udinese/Chile (Sanchez?), Ashley Young + Sneidjer?
I'd like to see Diarra come in as a defensive midfielder to get in over Hargreaves..
Young would be on the bench most of the time i'd guess.. but with him Nani, Valencia.. that is a good assortment of wingers.
Not sure how Sniedjer fits into Uniteds team with Chicarito.. quality player though.. perhaps Modric is the safer buy
Well personally I think Sniedjer would just have to play a CM role....i mean, hes got a good engine anyway, carrick normally sits back, I just dont see us signing Diarra....hes a good player and all...but with carrick (and hes coming back to form to be fair) I just dont see us buying him..
I think Sanchez is definitely a player for the future....Would be a great signing now, but theres alot of teams interested..
Ashley young is proven in the premier league and no doubt would benefit at united....Id just wonder how the nani/valencia on the wings will play out, because parks been putting on some great performances aswel....As great as nani's season has been, I would see fergie picking young over him as young can play on the left good (and so can nani) but he seems to drift out of games when valencia plays for some reason
De Gae - I really Dunno what to make of him, Hes a fantastic prospect....hes very young, especially for a goalkeeper....potential on par with Joe Hart id say, I just wonder would he keep it up at a club like United....Its not like we have another choice tho...we NEED him once VDS retires...
The thing thats sad about hargreaves is he was a QUALITY player....He could play Defensive mid, Right mid, left mid, right back....anywhere u need him, and you knew he would do a good job....he had a hell lot of pace and was technically good, especially because of the time he spent in germany...
MANCHESTER CITY have issued Udinese a £35m ultimatum over Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has made the Chilean winger one of his major summer targets. But he wants to move fast and has made it clear to the Italian club that he wants an answer as soon as possible.
Part of the problem is that Inter Milan are also interested in Sanchez and the 22-year-old is not sure about a move to the Premier League.
Mancini is not about to be messed about though, and if Udinese and Sanchez are not ready to do a deal he will move on to another target – Atletico Madrid’s Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine hitman has issued a transfer request to Atletico. His buy-out clause is £40m, but City face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Atletico have made it clear they have no intention of selling one of their prize assets to Real.
Sanchez’s brilliant form is why his club Udinese have managed to land a pre-qualifying spot for the Champions League.
He can play wide or as a central striker and offers pace and an eye for a goal.
With Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and Roque Santa Cruz all set to leave Eastlands this summer, Mancini is ready to revamp his strike force.
He also knows he could lose Carlos Tevez but he is fighting to keep hold of his skipper.
Defender Kolo Toure is set to discover his fate after failing a drugs test.
The City star will attend an FA hearing today, where he is facing a two-year ban.
Toure has been suspended from all levels of football since March, when his urine sample tested positive for a banned substance.
Toure is understood to have built his defence around the claim the substance he took was to help with weight problems rather than enhance performance.
Goalkeeper Shay Given has revealed he would consider a move to Celtic.
Given has had to play second fiddle to England keeper Joe Hart for most of the season at City and is desperate for a move.
He said: “You never say never when Celtic come calling.”
Fukin hell.....35mil first offer?
Every1 knows City have money to spend, and they aint gonna let go unless they get a huge offer, cos they know they will cough it up eventually
Parker, Samba, etc are good players. Given Wengers transfer targets over the past few seasons, randoms from Ligue 1, in the short run at least they are a step up.
Having said that I think we might as well pack it in if we carry on targeting players like these as our route back to the top. They are simply not good enough as we've shown already.
We need names, players who have won stuff, players that inspire confidence.
Also, I'm hearing Falaco has rejected a new contract and we have nabbed another Barca youngster
