Nobody is expecting Wenger to spend vast amounts of money we just want him to address the problem positions (goalkeeper, centre back etc). 5 million he spent on Squilacci, treble that and he could have got someone like Cahill, Samba or Hangeland.

I hate to see Arsenal fans such as yourself critisize big daddy Wenger. He is my hero. We should back him up, and defend his decisions and philosphy, instead of wanting him to be like every other manager.

Wenger doesnt give a **** about using Arsenal's money, it aint his why would he care? its his boss who doesnt give him the money to spend.

Henry was done when he went to Barca, and probably only went because he'd become disillusioned with where Wenger was taking the club, as he wouldn't spend money. Henry was looking for reassurances, he didn't get any, however he decided to stay for one more season after the CL final, but was clearly starting to slide, so we sold him whilst he still had a resale value.

Fabregas is Spanish, Arsenal dont win anything currently, that's the only reason he wants out.

Alonso, whilst a very good player, is not exactly a top draw player, he's probably only as good as Gerrard, Lampard, Essien, he might not even be that good either, and he only went because Rafa disillusioned him by going after Gareth Barry.

RVN was past it when he went there, and Owen was past his peak to.

The writing was on the wall for Becks after Fergie kicked a boot at him.

Van Nistelrooy was not passed it, you just stopped hearing about him since he left your country's league. He was top scorer in Spain for 2 seasons straight i believe. Him and Raul formed an excellent partnership.

Also Alonso was regarded as a great player. His last season at Liverpool was great, which is way he went for like 30 million.

What prime player that isnt british would not leave EPL and go to Real or Barca??? i cant think of any.

I hate to say this as i am an Arsenal supporter, but Nasri would gladly leave if Barca offered him a deal.

Are any of those 3 players actually worth 15m though? I mean Chris ***in Samba....is he even any good? Cahill seems to have potential but 15m? If he was such a good prospect, why did Villa let him go?

Squillacci is pants though. I dunno what Wenger was thinking there. It seems he thinks that his first choice CBs will just stay fit all season so he buys *****y ones as back up thinking he'll never have to play them anyway.

Squillacci wasnt a good purchase, he is a flop.

but come on!!! not evey buy can be great. Mou, Fergie, Guardiola EVERY manager has done alot of bad purchases.

Anyway, i dont want Samba or some other headless chicken. Hangeland is too slow, he would get exposed against skilled forwards like he was against Forlan a couple years back. I dont want a typical big centre back that is strong and slow as Arsenal play a high line, we need a quick athletic centre back. Thiago Silva would be perfect but we aint getting him.

Cahill i havent seen much of so im gonna refrain from commenting. How good is he in your opinions? thanks

Are you kidding me? They are exactly the type of defender we need. Big no nonsense defenders who are good in the air. Arsenal are so vulnerable from set pieces its unreal. Sol Campbell wasn't exactly a spring chicken was he but he was our best defender for years.

Sol Campbell was mad athletic and fast though.

Hangeland would not fit in to Arsenal's style of play IMO. Because he is too slow.

A player like Pepe would be perfect. Good in the air and athletic.
