    Soccer star in shooting
    February 27, 2011 - 12:17PM

England soccer star Ashley Cole reportedly shot a 24-year-old intern by accident, at Chelsea's training base.

English paper, News of the World reported Cole was "larking about" with a .22 calibre air rifle at the club's Cobham training ground when he unintentionally shot work experience student Tim Cowan in the side with a pellet from just a metre and a half away.

Cowan was reportedly seen to by medical staff at the ground, but two days later the wound was still weeping and he had to be treated again.

The defender brought the gun into the dressing room but claims he was unaware the weapon was loaded.

The Loughborough University sports science student Cowan, met with the club and his father, Ronald also spoke with Chelsea officials about what punishment Cole would receive.

The former Arsenal has apologised to Cowan, and was reportedly given a stern talking to by Chelsea bosses.

I have a .20 caliber but .22 cal that's pretty sweet. Haven't seen one around or at the hardware store.

It's only badass when you know the gun is loaded and you meant to do it.

Harper's attempted save for the Bolton goal was absolutely pathetic.
