For one, he was suited to Arsenal's style of play more than Milan's. But even bigger than that, he had no competition in that position. He was against an old Silva and Flamini looked great alongside Fabregas who made team of the year that season ( if I remember correctly ).
Like I said earlier and I'm guessing you didn't read it, Flamini is fighting for a place in a team that is stacked in his position.
But its safe to say that Flamini got exposed in Serie A. maybe the same thing would happen to Essien or Fletcher if they went to Milan....we'll never know

FYI Erik, Robinho himself has already admitted that he wasn't suited to English football. Several times.

Robben was shit at Real, hence them offloading him to Bayern at the 1st opportunity.

Milan invested time in Flamini, re-trained him as an RB and he still gets games at DM.
He obviously wasn't exposed..
But I'll go back to a question I asked, what do you mean by Flamini not cutting it?
Because like I said earlier, I don't think Flamini was spectacular or anything special. For someone to say Flamini was exposed means they bought into a lot of hype about the French midfielder.
Did you expect him to be the second coming of Christ?

Come on Emz, lets hear your opinion on the mighty Flamini.
Was he destined for stardom?
Was there a chance of Pele naming him the greatest player that ever lived?
Were FIFA going to look into testing the French midfielder as his skills were out of this world?
Or was he a decent looking prospect who was versatile and would be decent cover for a team like Milan?
Hmm... I don't know... a lot of options there...
