MARC ALBRIGHTON has seen the future of English football – and he says it is called Josh McEachran.
The pair were team-mates for the first time in England’s Under-21 defeat against Italy on Tuesday and although Stuart Pearce’s side lost 1-0 to a late Federico Macheda penalty, Albrighton was hugely impressed with Chelsea wonderkid McEachran.
He delivered a compelling performance in Empoli in his first start for the U21s and he is now a certainty for Pearce’s squad for the European Championship finals in Denmark this summer.
Albrighton admits that he had heard of 17-year-old McEachran’s reputation, but having played alongside the Chelsea midfielder, he is now convinced he has a glittering future in the game.
Aston Villa winger Albrighton said: “I have seen Josh play before and there is something about him. He was superb against Italy. It was about the 85th minute when he first gave the ball away. He is just amazing, a superb player.
“What catches the eye is he is just so composed on the ball. He is the future of English football, no doubt about it. He has a massive future ahead of him. Like everybody else, I was hugely impressed.

I really rate Josh. He should be playing in that Chelsea midfield now. It's not like any of our midfielders are playing anything above disgracefully at the moment. They're the main reason we've had a ****ty season. Essien and Mikel have been woeful. Joshy will get a lot of slack for being a young player so the pressure is off.

England should think about integrating Rodwell, Wilshere, McEachran into the first team imo. Use two of them as your central midfield players, then sprinkle the rest of the team with experienced heads to supplement their lack of experience.
England's biggest problem keeping the ball, is in that midfield engine room imo, only Wilshere & McEachran have the ability to dictate, retain possession.
Imagine this..
.....................Joe Hart.....................
Richards.....Rio........Terry..........Cole
..............McEachran...Wilshere...
Lennon............Rooney............Gerrard
..................... Walcott...............
I believe Theo can and will score goals playing as a number 9 given the opportunity. You could alternate either McEachran, Wilshere with Rodwell, Huddlestone, least then you will have players in the position who can pass the ball, dictate from deep. I take the point McEachran, Wilshere might not offer enough protection, so drop take one em out if you feel that way, then drop Rodwell in there or something. England dont have to play this in competitive games, but why not start using the friendless to blood these kids?

I was thinking Dynamite, that an England full-strength u-21 would comfortably beat the seniors. If you put Wilshere and Walcott in the U-21's as well.
I like Lampard. I don't like Gerrard - never have done (****** footballer), but he's highly-rated. The kids Jack and Josh would make them look foolish because they're superior footballers.
I think Josh and Wilshere will have to play in front of an anchor. Anyhow, it's probably years off. Ancelotti is shitting his pants that he's going to get fired so he's not going play McEachran regularly this season. He probably won't really be a regular until he is around Jack's age in about a year.
I'm feeling very positive about English football. Wlishere and Josh are proper footballers and they will dominate possession.
