I agree Joe, Arsenal/Barca would be great again, I remember the first half hour at the emirates last year, Barca played some of the best football I've ever seen. Couldn't believe they weren't 4 or 5 nil up at half time.

I also agree that Real aren't brilliant, I reckon any of the 4 English sides could do them over 2 legs.

That was thanks to some heroics by Almunia. I was in the pub at the time and all the Arsenal fans were shocked. Not shocked that Barca were playing amazing but at the sight of Almunia saving all the shots!
Champions League is brilliant regardless of who's playing that's why i love watching the competition so much, so many twists and turns though if you turn up to the pub late someone will have scored already! Happened to me too many times.

If they draw Shalke then they are lucky, not that any team in the competition is a confirmed win, but it will be tougher drawing a side like Barca or Bayern. I loved Theo's comment after the game "it would be good to go back to Barca so we can do them again" at which point the guy doing the interview was like "don't you mean actually beat them this time?!"
        .
        ***ing owned

Barca will flat out destroy Arsenal if they meet again... both play good football but Barca are far superior attacking wise.. and defensively miles ahead of Arsenal. Even Arsharvin said Arsenal defence is **** lol

I don't see any English team apart from Man United or Spurs beating Madrid right now on form. Chelsea are just ***ing awful atm and i see them sacking there coach soon

I dont know why they would be shocked to be honest, Almunia is actually a decent shot stopper, its the rest of his game that has holes in it, the fact that he's a *****, the fact that he cant handle pressure.

i hope Pardew is successful at Newcastle, seems to be a decent bloke and he didn't do that bad at West Ham

                  Yep.

David Seaman's was a great stopper in terms of, he was capable of world class saves (peschisolido), he was also a great penalty stopper (MCallister, Attilio Lombardo), but what made him such a great GK, was that that he was great at commanding his area, he would claim the ball most of the time on crosses, corners, and hardly ever made mistakes, which is most probably why he's called safe hands, Seaman was more of a great allrounder than great in any particular area.

I'd take a consistent GK who rarely makes mistakes, commands his area, is an average/decent shot stopper, over a guy that is capable of pulling off world class saves one week, but capable of throwing one in the next, not that im calling Seaman an average shot stopper.

yeah seaman is an arsenal legend....with him in goal and with dixon, winterburn, keown and adams infront of him the arsenal defence was like a brick wall...jens lehmann was a good goalkeeper for us aswell altough he was a moody german ****er!!

I personally think Lehman was a liability, infact I think he gets more notoriety than he deserves because he was in the 2004 side that went unbeaten, although I did'nt think he was one of the stand out performers in that season, I think we won the league in spite of Lehman than because of him.

I thought Lehman cost us in both legs of that CL game against Chelsea, in the first leg he gifted, Gujohnsen I think it was, a goal, then in the second leg, he gifted Chelsea another, Makelele tried a speculative effort which he spilled infront of Lampard, which he gobbled up to score.
