Cesc set to miss United date
Wenger gives Gunners captain 'small chance' of being fit

He is scared.. Anderson is back on form and he has handled Cesc in the past..

Who do you guys have at CB though? Vermalen is out injured.. Squilachi and?

I'd take Nani over Di Maria any day, that kid is overated. And i reckon we would beat Madrid, they aren't half as good as people make them out to be. Ronaldo, despite scoring loads, is a shadow of his former self and La Liga is a 2 horse race the rest of the teams don't stand a chance that's why he's scoring so much.

Also, we should play Anderson against Arsenal if Cesc plays. He handles Cesc everytime we play Arsenal.

It'll most likely end up being Squillaci and Koscielny. Djourou is out with a minor injury, but I think he'll be ready for the United game.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley to pay new manager based on results

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley will insist that the new manager of the club accepts a highly incentive results based contract, according to the Telegraph.

With recently departed Ajax manager Martin Jol insisting he is ready to take a break from football, the path has been cleared for ex-Southampton boss Pardew to take over at St James’ Park.

A Newcastle source says that the new manager will be rewarded on results and nothing else: “The rules are going to be the same for any manager who comes in to replace [Chris] Hughton.

“Mike Ashley has sounded out two or three potential candidates and all have been told the same thing: they will be rewarded for results and results only.

"There will be no £1.5 million signing-on fee and no compensation clauses in their contract. The bottom line is Mike wants value for money and, just as in his businesses, he expects to get it.

"The new manager will not be handed a treasure trove of cash to spend and nor will he be handed a contract which means he can be rewarded for failure. He will be handsomely rewarded if he brings success to Newcastle United and will not be rewarded if he fails.

"Mike wants an experienced manager at one of the biggest clubs in the land. But he wants a manager on his terms and those terms are simple: every penny has to be spent wisely and the club must continue to head in the right direction towards the top end of the Premier League."

Ashley is obviously keen to put a stop to huge salaries being paid out on Tyneside, with deals such as centre-back Fabricio Coloccini’s £85,000 per week becoming a thing of the past, but this new strategy could lead to players and managers looking elsewhere to ply their trade as he looks to this new and unconventional method of running his football club.

The source added: “It will be run along the same lines Mike pays top executives at Sports Direct – a very good basic wage but big bonuses for results. It might be a lengthy contract but it would be a three or four-year deal buying into the vision.

"Jol put himself in a good position but he would have to accept the terms and conditions. It would not be a way that he has worked before.

"I don't think any club in England would be run like this but this is a businessman running a football club as a business. Whether that is right or wrong only time will tell."

            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this is true then what a ****** way to run a football club.

                Actually he very underrated.

You delusional if you think united would beat madrid. Yes ronaldo doesn't look like his former self but he is still a very good and dangerous player. Just cause la liga is a two horse race doesn't mean all the other teams are bad. Its just barca and madrid are filled with amazing talent, every single player in those team are great and any EPL team would beg to have one of them.

Valencia gave united everything they could handle, Madrid and Barca would wreck every EPL team no doubt about that.

Two horse race cause they are the best team in the world. Barca and Madrid will have to be at their worst and chelsea, united, and arsenal have to be at their very best if they want to win vs them.

Atletico madrid would wreck every epl team from 5th place down.
