                I thought with Gallas, Silvestre and Campbell out and a new defender in that it would be better than recent times for the gooners, it's only pre season though so i wouldn't look too much into it. But sounds like Wenger needs another defender.

                    For me, an Arsenal with a better defence are right up there with Chelsea & United
                    They may not be as solid or consistent, but the counter-attacking style keeps them in the top 3
                    It's not like they need a large amount of signings either
                    Vermaelen was a great signing, but Wenger should stop looking for the bargains and just splash out on a proven CB to partner him, Europe is crammed with world-class CB's
                    A keeper is needed badly... the premier league is full of excellent keepers at lower tier teams, so it's crazy again that it hasn't been sorted, where is the money going?

                      Yeah, I heard Wenger was trying to sign Emir Spahic, but **** him man.. Yesterday I read that he was going after Mexes, that would be MUCH better!

                      And yes, I agree, Vermaelen was a GREAT signing. He is one of the most consistent players on our team.
