I think we saw Jorginho and Kovacic because of Wolves' strengths.

We might see Kai + Mount as two 10s at some point too.

Tuchel did it at PSG and Dortmund before. Reus+Ousmane behind Aubameyang. Neymar+Di Maria behind Mbappe.

I think both Germans have technical holes.

I genuinely feel that the English school has over taken the German school. Technically Mount and Billy are stronger than Havertz. Better first touch, better touch play, better at handling the ball under pressure.

The English have always praised Germans for their innovation and there is a distinct anomaly of lack of top English coaches but for me this generation of young English players are very strong. Better than the Germans. At everything.

Havertz is a typically English player. I dont see Ozil, I think I see a pretty orthodox no 9 in there.

I might be way off with that. And I know he's only young but he has this lovely gait, he is strong in the air, he can run the channels. He can see space, he is quick and he has good pass appreciation but what he doesnt have seemingly is ingenuity.

I feel he could be something incredible. But he's not a no8 or a no10 or even a midfielder. He just isnt.

I read no lies. Havertz "looks" a lot more refined but doesn't he play a lot like Barkley @ Everton? The only difference I can see is that it looks like Havertz isn't even trying. While Barkley looked like Shire carriage horse.

But you're on to something there.

Spain maybe not the most athletic but Mata, Silva, Xavi etc. all technically superior players.

Seems like England has adopted a lot of that. You see it in players all over. Foden, Mount, CHO, Gilmour, even Winks.

But Germany is just so extremely efficient. Look at Gnabry, Sane, Kai, Werner, Kimmich, Goretzka even.

Just very minimal players. It's like they play just the precise amount of effort to do what they need to do to win... and they do it.


Also, I'm much more confident in Chelsea now. Tuchel would probably do to Spurs what he did to Wolves. Except probably use Alonso and others to exploit the Portuguese bus.

Think the boy Werner is the most inefficient player the game has ever seen, but I take your point. Outside of Havertz those players arent the generation of the English lads. And Groetzka looks like an English player to me too.

I also think the pl has slowed down. It is a defensive league. How Wolves set up is indicative of that. They have athletes in that team but set up like a mid 90's Serie A team. They were utterly dreadful. Still nearly won by accident. So the motivation is for nearly everyone to set up like that.

Game like that are common, most games are like that. You need technical players who can play in small spaces or you just wont win.

Nobody wants to give up counters. It is the whole aim of about 18 teams in the premier league other than the best 2 teams. Chelsea failed miserably to do what they do. At least thus far. And like the others our main focus has to now be to stop giving up counters because we are not good enough to do anything more progressive defensively.

I think the league is awful.

a run hard and kick hard Steven Gerrard type is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Although you still need to run hard or you wont win but the games are pretty closed off and utterly boring. Let's be honest.

I cant think of a game I've enjoyed all season. As in a real end to end contest.

You look dreadful mate. Tbf even when you were good you weren't. The spurs title contenders stuff was rubbish. Having 3 shots a game against a title rival is indicative of how rubbish they are.

Spurs have no style.

Man U arent good. They're a hodge podge of quality players who have figured out how to defend as a unit reasonably well as a direct result of getting absolutely banjo'd by Spurs. They have no style.

Spurs defend deep and rely on two players largely to do everything that could make them win.

Chelsea are sh.it no matter what they try and do.

Arsenal are on a run but it is more due to the shock factor of their kids and the fact that teams are now underestimating them. If you sit back and sh.ithouse against them they'll finish about 10th.

Leciester are a decent outfit no more.

Everton are pretty average.

It's a bad league. The reason why it is close is due to the lack of intensity caused by no fans at the games.
