By getting better and bringing in increased revenue so a 29 year old CB can be on the same wages as 200k a week Kane. Right now thats not feasible but I think a club can grow.

Thats why Levy wanted the new stadium. It isn't something to just look at.

It’s tough to be a sensible Football club - the successful ones anyway like Real and Barca basically run themselves like charities. They spend all their money and really a profit is a badge of dishonour because why should some guy keep the money. They also beg, borrow and cheat the tax payer.

With Spurs I always think ultimately they won’t spend good money after bad.

Watch United. I would put my mortgage on them winning a league title in the next 5 seasons.

They will spend through the absolute arse and some of it will be good money after the bad.

To be fair I can’t see Man U finishing top 4 either.

I’d argue Chelsea, Arsenal,
And Man U aren’t really good enough anyway to win the champions league or be competitive so what’s the point.

I’m not gonna be hypocritical. I have no real interest in seeing Chelsea in the champions league.

It was annoying when Arsenal stole in 4th every year and you knew they would not be remotely competitive.

At best Chelsea and Arsenal could be the new Sevilla. Or they could get in the CL and get easily put out in the 2nd round

I think it's harder to attract top players though man (if you don't make the CL)..

The downside of not being in the CL.. is that you most likely end up in the Europa Cup.. Which is even worse imo (thursday nights).. I'd rather be in neither and have a good go at the league.. it worked for Chelsea a couple years ago

Yeah I just resent the champions league being full of also rans and teams that don’t win anything.

Champions League comes with a lot of money and many of the sponsorship deals are based on that.

That's why Chelsea freak out every time they don't make it and toss out the manager as the remedy. So, deserved or not, gonna ****house their way every time if need be.


Sarri better do right by the club man. Its looking like he is here to stay with the easiest run to the final.

To be fair to Sarri.

Luiz, Alonso, Azpilicueta, Willian and Pedro he inherited and they clearly aren’t good enough any more. Most are passed it or too specialist in Alonso’s case. He can’t be anything but a wing back. Maybe a left midfielder. Azpi is a centre half now. He gets so narrow at full back because he has no pace. Unfortunately he is also bad receiving the ball under pressure.

Additionally, Jorginho, Kova, Higuian are all **** average.

Emerson himself isn’t really very good, Zappacosta is garbage, Barkley is a mid table player, there are big question marks about Kepa. He’s better than big Nose but he obviously isn’t as good as the big dogs. And throughout the whole season I wouldn’t say he’s actually won us any points at all.

RLC is a good player but I suspect he’s basically a crock and will never be injury free. Christensen has done some good things but is fragile. Ampadu is good but hasn’t played at all so Sarri has curtailed his development.

Hazard is leaving and should leave.

I genuinely think only:

CHO, RLC, Rudiger, Kepa, Kante, Christensen, and Giroud are actually definitely worth keeping out of the entire squad.

So as bad as this season has been I think we’ll finish 10th next season at best.

Imagine Willian and Pedro next season? Jesus.

We are getting Pulisic as well. Should be an improvement on willian and (old) Pedro. But he's also injured now, I think.

If it were any manager besides Sarri, I figure we would make use of the 2 clubs worth of loanees but seriously doubt it with Sarri's stubborn ass running things.

Not to say any of them are world beaters but if Sarri was hired after Jose, I dont believe he would recall or buyback any of Lukaku, Salah, or De Bruyne. That's really how short sighted that man is.
