That's a big blow for Portugal with Ronaldo and Nani on the wings they could have been a handful, i don't really see who is gonna step up and help Ronaldo out now.

Something i dont get with Capello, since coming in he has tried to get England to get the ball down and pass it rather than hitting too many long balls, now to me English players dont have the technique to accept the ball in tight situations, Rooney and Cole being exceptions, so what they end up doing is look to play safe passes which are usually slower, sideways, backwards passes, problem England have when they play like this is that they dont take a man out the game by playing that difficult pass, which in turn means because the passes are slow that the opposition can funnel back into position, which leads to a lack of creativity, now that this has become more apparent he seems to be telling them to play at the tempo they play in the Premiership, but to do that you must have an excellent first touch and technique, because when the ball is zipped about quickly you have to be ready to accept it and able to knock it off precisely, not knock it off half a yard infront of your team mate, but accurately to feet, because if you dont you will lose the ball, you cant move the ball that quickly if you dont pass it well.

I can see what he is trying to do, and its prolly the right thing to do, just not sure England players are capable. England aint Spain, they dont have the technique to play fluid one touch football where you move the ball quickly and precisely, England pass at a higher tempo they might give the ball away more.

I think they just need to play slow most of the goals will come from Set pieces and crosses. Playing fast really wouldn't suit anyone except a few also it's gonna be really hot over there at times i think, England ****** at times at the WC in Korea due to this.

Sendy will prolly do well for a team like Fulham, he is a decent defender, he just got exposed at Arsenal because of our high line, he does not have the pace when the ball is put over the top, however for a team that defends the edge of the box he is effective, thats why he did so well for Arsenal in our run to the CL final, Arsenal sat back more and played counter attacking football, he was not drawn off his 18 yard line and done for pace, plus i dont think he could handle the pressure of playing for a big club, wonder if that deal means that Lampost(Hangeland) will be heading to Arsenal?

I dont even think benjani is that bad, at pompey he was playing every game.... he scored like 15 league goals 1 year for pompey didnt he?

Then he just got injured and never got first team games being at city....he would be good for a team like Fulham, i could see him at birmingham
