Man United would have been a legit title contender if they started sooner.

For me I still think Citeh will reel of 10 wins in a row at some stage. Regardless of their lucky win.

Chelsea have 6 winnable games coming up. It will be interesting to see if those teams play differently. Our success so far has been based on winning all the games we should do.

Aside from Swansea away. When to be fair we should have won 8 nil yet somehow drew 2 all.

      I'm a fucking genius tbh

Swapped Sanchez and Bertrand out for Jesus and Siggurdson and they are already bearing fruit

Hey Scousers. What's y'all take on Klopp admitting that CL is something Liverpool should not be talking about anymore?

What's happened to Coutinho anyway. Signed a big contract and now he's just chilling.

Jesus is well decent. I don't know how the Brazilian season works but hasn't that kid just jumped off the sofa? Already playing 90 minutes and tearing it up.

Was in the best form of his life before he got injured. Never expected him to come back flying again tbh...he's always been kinda like that. Just needs to get back on form. Firmino is knackered.

And yeah, as Flicker would call him GabbyJess is looking well decent, well jel tbh. I genuinely saw someone ask why City were allowed a ''exceptional talent'' work permit for Gabriel yet we weren't allowed it for our young Brazillian midfielder Allan(google him) I mean one was starting for Brazil at the time City signed him and the bum we signed is currently on loan to some bum Bundesliga team which he can't even make the bench on. Funny stuff.

He probably didn't say that but in all actuality we shouldn't really be in with a sniff of top 4.

Look at the teams we are competing with, they've outspent us by billions and have squads much stronger than ours. I mean we've got Mignolet as our first choice keeper ffs and a career midfielder as our first choice left back.

GabbyJess? I don't know what that is.

And you telling me that Spurs out spend you lot? They the bigger club now???

Transfer fees don't mean that much.

It is wages paid that matter. What a player earns is far more indicative of his quality than a transfer fee. Until the last few seasons the team with the biggest wage bill won the league. Even Chelsea overachieved in 14/15 as they were outwaged by both Manc Clubs.

Chelsea have a smaller net spend than Liverpool since 2013. That is because we have had better players to sell of proven quality. And actually on quite big contracts!

Hazard and Mane cost the same.

Nobody is gonna give Mane 200k a week. He's good but he's not Hazard.

It is an exact science. Say Klopp buys some bum from the Bundesliga and he absolutely tears it up. Scores 40 goals in a season. Liverpool would have to double or treble or even quadruple his wages or he's off. Someone could buy a good player like Ross Barkley for £50 million. The bundesliga bum is still a better more valuable player. And that £50 million might as well have been set on fire in a field unless Barkley performs.

That's the problem with Liverpool. They constantly buy the Barkleys of the world, of which have very real ceilings to their potential and then complain about money.

For example, Klopp is interested in Julien Brandt but I guarantee that they end up buying Deulefeu or something for equal to what we bought Willian for. Either that, or they buy Brandt for what they could get Reus or Lacazette. (potential vs proven talent)

While Chelsea will end up flogging Costa off to China for 80 million sterling and then turn around and buy Morata or summat for half that. Then Roy will complain about billions spent.

In real terms Coutinho is the only class player Liverpool have.

Batshuayi is another one who comes in for stick here. Again, you don't even have to find a source to know he is likely one of the lesser paid players in and around that Chelsea first team squad of 18 or whatever. Basically because Chelsea would need to give themselves room to renegotiate a contract since he's only 22 or whatever. His transfer fee is just the sign of the times really but what he earns is the real indicator of his value. I couldn't tell you were that £32 million figure came from. It's crazy. But then Slimani at Leicester cost £27 million and they're gonna get relegated.

Transfer fees are arbitrary as hell. Especially now as a lot is to do with PR and how the building of footballers as a sort of brand. And the T.V deals are huge. Maybe even Brexit and the temporary devaluation of the pound has an impact.

Morata is an example of a guy loved by the sponsors - a £40 million pound striker, Spain and Real Madrid and a good looking kid.. The guy has scored about 30 career goals ffs. Lukaku has been a prolific premiership goal scorer for 4 straight seasons and is only 23. Why don't Real Madrid want him?

It's because he has a reputation of having clumsy first touch. Plays for an unfashionable club and because he appeared to quit playing for Chelsea due to a lack of self-belief.

Strangely, you can actually see Lukaku and Chelsea being the perfect match for each other because Lukaku would have an awful lot to prove here.

If Arsenal bought Lukaku he'd transform them. But they wont because they're snobby. They'll view him as a failure at Chelsea. Mourinho binned him so he can't sign him. Citeh wont sign a pick lump. Liverpool probably wont pay him well enough or will see him as inexplicably beneath them and their gegenpress rubbish.

We'll buy him back for whatever £65-£70 million quid and he'll tear it up. Because Chelsea are a nightmare at board level but there is absolutely no sentimentality there at all and no delusions of grandeur that holds all the other clubs back. They seem willing to admit they messed up regularly.

They will even sell good players to rivals. They don't care.
